Created with love and care - the original Bellaminas Teddy Bears

Unique wooden teddy bears, created with love

Welcome to our universe

We are Almina and Isabella

Two creative girls who love to build, paint and shape.
As part of our homeschooling, we learn about crafts, design, nature and economics , and the wooden teddy bears have become our favorite project.

At Bellaminas Bamser, each teddy bear begins as an idea at our workbench. We often select wood from our own forest and examine the grain, structure and strength before shaping the basic figure. Each teddy bear is then designed and assembled using free imagination and some quirky details that we come up with along the way.

The teddy bears we make as part of our teaching are given to our parents, who are responsible for the actual production and sales through their webshop.

Our father does most of the craftsmanship, but we get to learn along, we try out tools and learn how they work (under supervision of course, we call the profession woodworking), and then we get royalties for our ideas and designs , as a fun way to learn about economics and value.

We believe that craftsmanship takes time and that the small variations make each teddy bear completely unique. Here you don't get a mass-produced product, but a piece of Danish craftsmanship with heart, history and learning behind it .

The story behind each teddy bear

The idea for Bellamina's Teddy Bears began when we wanted to save up for a riding camp. There was a fallen larch tree in our forest, and with a little creativity – and help from dad with the chainsaw – it became our first wooden teddy bears.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who makes the teddy bears?

The teddy bears are designed by Almina and Isabella as part of their homeschooling in crafts and design .
They work creatively with ideas, colors and expressions and help with assembly and assembly, always under adult supervision when using tools.

Dad is responsible for the heavy work , such as sawing with a chainsaw and a crosscut/mitre saw, as well as for the actual production and sales.
Most of the assortment in the shop is made by the adults with heavy tools, while the designs are based on the girls' ideas and educational projects .

Is the wood 100% dry?

The wood we use is not 100% dry, because then it has to lie down for 3-6 years to dry.
The first tree we made into teddy bears fell over in January 2025. And we have had other trees since then that are not dried out either.

Therefore, cracks (patina) may appear in the wood over time, but the teddy bear will still last longer than a bouquet of flowers 😉

You can place the teddy bear outside, and when it is completely dry, it can be treated with linseed oil.

My teddy bear is cracked, what do I do?

Bellamina's teddy bears are handmade from solid larch wood and are not treated with chemicals.
Therefore, over time it will develop small cracks , which is a natural process. We call it Patina.
To preserve the look, we recommend storing outdoors or in a room with changing humidity.

How long does a wooden teddy bear last?

The teddy bear can last a really long time if you take good care of it.
It's hard to say exactly how long, but make sure it's left out until it's completely dry and then you can treat it with either wood oil or something else.

How should I treat my teddy bear?

You must treat your teddy bear well.

But, if you want it to last a long time, you must make sure it is completely dry before you apply, for example, wood oil or varnish.

Are there chemicals in the teddy bear?

No, there are no chemicals used when the girls make the teddy bears.
Therefore, small cracks and color changes may also occur when the wood dries and is affected by sun, rain and frost.

My ear has fallen off, what do I do?

Oh, that wasn't good. But there's still hope for Bamse.
You will need a screwdriver with a bit called TX20 to screw the ear back on.
If a crack is the cause of the ear falling off, you can screw it back on right next to the crack.
Remember to tighten the other ear now that you have the screwdriver ready.
Do not tighten too hard or the ear may split.

Is there an adult present?

The answer is yes.
Even though the girls are really talented and can do the entire process themselves, there is always an adult present when we make the teddy bears.

Dad is in charge of the chainsaw and the entire process of cutting the different slices for the teddy bears.

The girls design the different teddy bears from the wooden discs and then they are assembled with nails and screws.

Can I return a teddy bear?

For teddy bears without personal branding, you have a 14-day right of return if it is in the same condition as when you received it.
You must pay for the return yourself, and you must write to us at info@bellaminasbamser.dk to arrange the return.

If you have purchased a teddy bear with personal engraving, unfortunately there is no option for returns.

Do you also send the teddy bears?

Yes, we will send the teddy bear to you much sooner. We use GLS as a carrier and deliver to all of Denmark.

You can choose both Shop delivery and Direct home delivery.

If you need to have it shipped abroad, please send us a message at info@bellaminasbamser.dk to make further arrangements.

How much does shipping cost?

We use GLS to ship your teddy bear, and we do not make a profit from shipping the teddy bears, quite the opposite.
Below you can see what it costs us to send packages to you, and what we charge for the different package sizes:

At GLS we pay the following when both transport tax, environmental tax and VAT are added to the package:
0-1 kg Net 61.30
1-5 kg Net 80.13
We charge 59,- for this.

5-10 kg Net 104.76
We take 79,-

We do not intend to regulate the shipping to the actual price as we think it is too expensive compared to the price of the products. We hope that we can get a better agreement with GLS at some point so that we do not have to add money when we ship.

My teddy bear is a little musty 😉

It's probably just a little blue splinter. It can be removed with a stiff brush, it's not dangerous for your teddy bear.

Disposal

In the unlikely event that you have become a little tired of your teddy bear and want to get rid of it, you can simply throw it away.

Only natural, untreated wood materials are used.
4-7 screws and 12-20 nails have been used.

Remember to say goodbye to it nicely.
